There are loads of activities in the area around the house for all ages. Shown below are some of the places we have discovered. |
The beautiful swimming lake of Le Lac du Moulin Blanc is 20 minutes from the house just past St Christoly de Blaye. There is also an adjacent fishing lake and holiday fishing permits are available from the Tabac for approx 40 Euros.

Royan has some of the biggest beaches on the west coast of France. This seaside town was completely re-built after the war and caters almost entirely for tourists. About 1 hours drive from the house and well worth a day trip!

Les Antilles de Jonzac is a huge indoor/outdoor swimming centre. Some 40 minutes drive from the house, it's well worth a visit for those with children who like to swim. Features water slides, wave machine and a giant jacuzzi! |
There is a frequent ferry service from Blaye to Lamarque on the south side of the estuary. Crossing time is only about 15 minutes and this is a quick way to get to see the Medoc and other Bordeaux vineyards |

Re-discover nature at this exciting local activities park. You can take part in pretty much anything including climbing, paintballing, golf, mini golf, out door games and firing catapults!!

Surfing is hugely popular along the west coast of the Gironde. There are many clubs and schools for learning, many of which speak English. |

An excellent theme park for the under 12s. Pay one fee and spend the day. There are plenty of rides and a restaurant/snack bar. Well worth a visit if you are heading for Arcachon. |
There are 100s of paths in Blaye and the surrounding area, mostly through vineyards, so if you fancy some cycling or just want to check on a walking route, contact the Blaye Office de Tourisme |

Excellent water sports park just down the road from Kid Parc near Arcachon. It has around 12 different water attractions including slides, pools, bubbles etc. The park also has restaurants, snack bars and shops.

A large choice of Golf clubs is available with the nearest ones at the Bordeaux Lac about 30 minutes drive from the house |
